They have an excellent program of study to become a Doctor; you need a bachelor’s degree followed by a medical degree or doctorate. You will need excellent grades from high school to get to this point. Your study will be four years for your bachelor’s degree, another four for medical school and then some residency time. After all of this you will be rewarded handsomely with a three-figure annual salary.

After completion of your Bachelor’s Degree you will attend medical school. The first two years will be studying and laboratory work so that you are prepared for recognizing and treating illness. Then you will spend the next two years supporting and training with Doctors in hospitals on placement. You will take intensive exams in your second and fourth years

Then the residency begins which can last from 3 to 7 years depending upon your specialism. In the first year of residency you will take your final medical licencing exam. The residency itself will be full hands on practical training in hospitals.

The next step is when you will receive your license, and at this point you are class as a fully licensed medical doctor.

It can therefore take eleven to fourteen years to become a licensed doctor in the US so you need to be aware of this when you decide that this is for you. You need to be prepared to see everything and anything, people from all walks of life; you also have to be prepared and able to deal with what you see. Ensure that you have the right resilience and temperament to handle this or it will cause issues. Being a doctor is a vocation more than a job, you will work long hours and it will be hard to have a social life, you must be prepared that this is what you are signing up for and you must be equipped for the journey.

It takes 11-14 years to become a doctor in the United States, including earning a bachelor’s degree, attending 4 years of medical school, and completing a 3- to 7-year residency program after medical school. After residency, doctors may apply for a state license to practice medicine.
