The global pandemic which has dominated 2020 may not yet be over but we are starting to see the rules relaxed around people getting out and about and there is a general consensus that the worst of the situation is over, assuming that people stick to the rules regarding social distancing and mask wearing. This is the ideal time for us all to reflect on how health we are and many medical experts like the great Dr. Balpal Sandhu have been speaking out about just how important this is. It is perfectly normal to have put on a few pounds since lockdown, especially given the lack of calories which we have been burning, but here is why now is the time to get on top of it.

Awareness

In the main those who have struggled most from this virus are those who were overweight and unhealthy. This then should prove the importance of staying on top of your health now, so that should anything happen in the future you are best equipped to deal with it. Keeping yourself health is a great way to ensure that you have a fully functioning and strong immune system which can help fight off viruses and infections.

Second Wave

We have learned that the antibodies which we create after having the virus only last for a few months and that is why there is certainly a very real risk of a second wave. The hope is that there will be a vaccine in place by the time that this happens, but nonetheless the threat is there. Again this is the perfect time for you to get on top of your health because if that second wave comes, you are going to want to ensure that you are as protected as possible.

Inactive

I think it is fair to say that most of us have been frustrated because of the fact that we couldn’t go out and about and we have to use that to inspire us to get up and out. We have the ability to be active, to run, to cycle to climb, and now that we are allowed to get out of the house a bit more, now is the perfect time to use all of those abilities which we have. It was understandable that when we were locked down, it was easy to do very little but that time is passing and this is why you have to get out there and take advantage of all of those moments which we have lost.

Health should be more important now than ever before, we have been given a wake up call as to what to expect if you do have bad health and that is exactly why post-CoVid you should be looking at seriously increasing your health levels. You can do it, you just have to concentrate and stay focused on your goals, do that and you will be in a great position to continue your healthy lifestyle.
