We can all feel the pinch from time to time and it is important that when we do, we take action to minimize how it affects our finances. There are loads of ways in which you can save money from month to month such as lowering your energy bill and spending less, but what about the weekly shop? This is an area where you can certainly save money if you are smart and no matter if you are shopping for a family of 5 or just yourself, doing things in the right way can help you to save some cash, let’s have a look at how.
Cashback
Companies like Cashback World offer a great option for shoppers to not necessarily save some money, but to earn cashback on products which they were going to buy anyway. Once you have registered for an account just have a look on the website each week and see which products they are offering cashback on. Let’s say that this week they are offering 50% cashback on Persil 3 liter detergent, all you need to do is buy it, register your receipt on the website or the app, and just like that your account will be credited with 50% of what you paid. A great way for you to save money on the things which you were going to buy anyway.
Couponing
Collecting coupons is of course nothing new, but in the past it would involve raking through magazines and newspapers, cutting out all of the coupons which you thought you may use. These days it is infinitely easier and all you need to do is to check out some of the money coupon websites, and check out where you can save some money. Loads of the coupons which you find on these websites are for products which you’ll find in the grocery store, and all you need to do is copy the code or take a screenshot and then present it in the supermarket when you pay. This has always been a great way to save money and whilst the method has changed, the way in which you save cash most certainly hasn’t.
Ten Second Rule
As you will be all too aware, we often make spontaneous purchases when we are in the supermarket, and this is by design. In order to minimize how much you spend on things which you perhaps don’t necessarily need, you should imply what we call the 10 second rule. All you need to do is to pick up the product and stand with it for 10 seconds, considering whether or not your really need to buy it. You will be absolutely amazed at how many times you will reach the end of the 10 seconds, and decide that in fact you really don’t need that product.
